Sarah Ward


Sarah is an independent people development consultant with eighteen years of business experience. She has worked for large blue chip organisations in operational management, general HR and Learning and Development roles, and has also created and managed two businesses of her own.

Sarah has specialised in the field of Learning and Development for the last seven years. Her roles within Learning and Development have included Leadership Development Manager for Aviva, which involved responsibility for international leadership and talent development programmes. During this time she managed Aviva's ‘Raleigh International Leadership Challenge', aimed at high potential leaders and delivered in Namibia in conjunction with the charity Raleigh International. She also facilitated international secondment opportunities as part of Aviva's international talent development programme, and was responsible for graduate development across the organisation.

Since becoming an independent consultant two and a half years ago, Sarah has worked with a wide variety of organisations - from small / medium enterprises, to FTSE 100 corporations - across a number of different sectors, including the public sector, retail, financial services and e-business. She has designed and delivered leadership development programmes, team development solutions and service excellence programmes. She has also provided coaching to business owners and leaders.

Sarah strongly believes in the potential of all people and is passionate about working with people in a way that enables them to unlock and fulfil that potential. She has a particular interest in working with people in a way that sustains behavioural change on a long-term basis.

Sarah is a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. She is qualified in a number of psychometric tools, including Myers Briggs Type Indicator, the Strength Deployment Inventory, Hogan Development Summary and Firo Elements. She is a firm believer in ‘walking the talk' and with that in mind she places continual focus on her own personal and professional development.
